IBL-Reflection
I find the IBL lessons interesting. Unlike the science lessons we usually have in class, we could do our own experiments. I enjoy the lessons alot.
Especially the experiment on the mealworms. I did not expect I would get a chance to touch the mealworms. We did an experiment on which type of food does the mealworms prefer. After the experiment, my group members and I found out that our experiment was unfair as we did not use the paper to cover the experiment. The mealworms was only finding cover to hide from the light.
Our first lesson was on parachutes. We are to make parachutes and do the experiment. Our group couldn't find enought stopwatches. We had to change our set-up to do the experiment.
Our second lesson was to make areoplane. Our experiment is to find out if the material of the airplane affects the distance fly by the airplane. During the experiment, my group found out that it is tedious to use the 3 metre mesuring tape to measure. in the end, we change the distance to the time taken.
I learn alot of things and enjoyed in these 3 days. I hope there will be more activities like this. :D

Story of the hare and the tortoise. (tortoise perspective)
Once upon a time there was a hare and a tortoise. The hare was intelligent and thinks highly of himself and always look down on the tortoise. The tortoise was slow but hardworking.
One day, the hare jumped in front of me. “Hey tortoise!” he shouted “You crawl so slowly. When are you going to reach your destination?”
Feeling irritated, I replied “You are not as good as you think.” The hare laughed. “I won everyone in a race in this town except for you!” the hare sneered.
“Want to have a race with me?” the hare challenged. I continued to crawl trying to ignore the hare. “You are not afraid to lose are you?” Just before the hare was about to speak again, I looked at the hare. “Let’s have a race.” I agreed with a grinned on my face.
We both went to the starting line. All the animals in the town came to watch us race. “The hare will win for sure!” one of the animals whispered. I will teach the hare a lesson that he will never forget. I thought. The hare told me the rules and regulations of the race.
The voice of the hare rang the air when he shouted “go”. The hare dashed forward while I crawled slowly. The animals did not move a single inch of their body and watched me. Some started to comment after a few minutes.
Few hours passed, I was reaching the finishing point. I turned my head and saw the hare sleeping soundly under the tree. I glanced at him and shook my head. Slowly. Very slowly. I crawled to the finishing line.
All the animals were shocked to see me instead of the hare. One started to clap and cheer. The others followed. Hearing the clapping sound the animals, the hare dashed to the finishing line.
He stood at the finishing line. His eyes widen and his jaws dropped. “I lost to a slow tortoise,” he muttered to himself.
“Hare,” I called. “You should have learnt a big lesson. You should be hardworking and never be complacent. You should try your best in everything you do and not think too highly of yourself. This will cause you a great downfall.”
The hare looked at me with tears in his eyes and nodded his head.

Birthday Celebration for teacher
Introduction
This picture shows a scene in a classroom. The students are celebrating the birthday of the teacher. There are presents, a cake and snacks on the table.
Scenario 1- Normal
The students are singing and clapping for the teacher. The teacher who may be name Miss Koh is blowing the candles. The students may be very close to the teacher as they know her birthday. It is very thoughtful of the students to organize a party for the teacher.
Personal Response-Experience
I have organized a party for a teacher before. My teacher was surprised. I remembered the wide smile she had on her face.
Scenario 2- wrong and consequence
There is a girl at a side. She is pouring a drink into a cup. She has spilt the drink on the floor.
Personal Response
The girl seems to look shocked. If I were there, I would suggest her to use a mop or a cloth to wipe the drink she spilt. If she did not clean it, it will attract many ants.
Conclusion
I feel that having a birthday party or just by wishing the teacher a happy birthday is a respect for a teacher. It shows how much you care about the teacher.

Importance of hygiene
Introduction
This picture shows a scene in a coffee shop. There are many people there. This may be lunch time on a Sunday as there is a family eating together.
Scenario 1 – Normal
There is a woman wearing a black skirt buying chicken rice. This store seems to be very clean.
Scenario 2 – Normal
There is a man, a woman and a boy eating at a table. Perhaps, they are a family. Looking at their expressions, they seem to eating happily. Eating together as a family can bond them together. They can chat with each other when they are eating. They can also know more about each other.
Scenario 3 – Normal
There is a prawn noodle stall across the chicken rice stall. There is a man standing beside the stall. Perhaps he is the stall owner.
Personal Response
The stall is very dirty. I think having a stall so dirty is very unhygienic. No one will buy food from this stall. If a person but a bowl of noodles from this stall, the person may have diarrhea. If I were there, I would suggest him to clean up the stall.
Scenario 4- Cause and effect/ Wrong and consequence
There is a man wearing a pair black pant and carrying a cup of water. He has stepped on the banana peal and is slipping towards a woman who is wearing a strip blouse.
Personal Response
The banana peal that the man is stepping on must be an inconsiderate doings of a person. The person should not have thrown the banana peal on the floor. Someone will slip and fall. It will injure other people.
Conclusion
I feel that hygiene is very important. Without hygiene, people will get sick very easily.

compo question 2
I felt a poke. I turned around. Isabella passed me a piece of paper. It said if I want to go dancing tonight. Without looking at her, I nodded my head as I desperately wanted a time off for myself.
The bell rang. Everyone dashed out of the class.
“Hey!” Isabella exclaimed. “Let’s go.”
We walked together to the nearby pub. I sat down and decided to get a drink. Before I could do so, I felt a tap.
“Eat this,” Isabella whispered. I stared at the green coloured thing on her hand. Soon, I could recognize it was ecstasy.
“No way!” I shouted, pushing her hand away.
“Don’t be a spoilsport,” a boy wearing a blue t-shirt sneered. “Just eat it.”
At that instance, my mind was clouded with the recent arguments with my father. Ever since my mum passed away since I was seven, no one at home had cared about me. I wanted to forget about my problems and to have enjoy the night. Impulsively, I took it and put it in my mouth. I started to feel the drifting feeling in me, I felt so free and I was placed in a dreamy state. Throughout the night, I just did not know what was going on.
The next day, I managed to force myself to be in school. I was seating in class with Isabella and Alice. I was really lethargic and listless. I could not concentrate at all. Suddenly, my hands were shaking uncontrollably.
Alice noticed it. “Are you on drugs?” she asked as she pointed at my trembling hands.
“Yes,” I answered.
She told me that taking drugs is harmful to my health and told me to quit. She then said there was no medication for recovery of addiction. I did not bother to follow her advice.
Out of a sudden, Isabella who was sitting next to me collapsed and fell in unconscious. It caught the teacher’s attention and many people started crowding around. She was sent to the hospital by the ambulance. The doctor said that her liver was damaged and was in critical condition and no transplant was available. After a few hours, the doctor pronounced the death of Isabella. Torrents of tears rolled down my cheeks. I had just lost a close friend.
That night, I went to the pub again and took Ecstasy. Just then, the police dashed into the pub. The place was in chaos. Everyone was trying to hide their drugs. I followed. Everyone in the pub was arrested and brought to the police station. When I was in the police station, the policeman told me that Alice was the one who called the police. I was shocked but I was not angry. I knew she did the right thing. I was identified as one of the drug trafficker. The police called my father. He did not answer the phone. I was then pressed charges and sent to the rehabilitation centre for six months. Then, I realized all choices have consequences, I have learnt my lesson and vow to turn over a new leaf.
